A Georgia couple is facing numerous charges after police discovered multiple animals being sexually abused and neglected on a bus in Adams County, Pennsylvania.
A Georgia man and his partner are facing over 250 combined charges following an investigation regarding multiple animals that were sexually abused and neglected on a bus found in Adams County, according to police. Shawn Hirschbine, 51, is facing over 120 charges including felony criminal conspiracy to commit aggravated assault against animals, neglect of animals and cruelty to animals. Deanna Huff, 64, was charged on 129 counts of the same nature.
On June 15, 2024, Eastern Adams Regional Police responded to Red Hill Road and Hanover Street around 8:38p.m. on reports of a traffic issue. Upon arrival, officers say they located a school bus sitting in the eastbound lane of Red Hill Road driven by Shawn Hirschbine and his partner, Deanna Huff. While investigating the bus, police determined that Hirschbine had an active warrant for his arrest based out of West Virginia on charges of distributing obscene material to a minor. Investigators say the material depicted Hirschbine performing sex acts with a pony and a bull. Hirschbine was then arrested and transported to Adams County Prison without incident, while Huff remained inside the bus with an unspecified number of the following animals: ducks, dogs, chickens and turkeys. Investigators worked alongside the Adams County SPCA to remove the animals from the bus on June 16. An SPCA official told police that the animals were in “poor health” due to lack of food and water. She also stated that the animals showed signs of experiencing sexual abuse.Huff allegedly shared with police that the bus was filled with animals for a children’s “petting zoo” that she and Hirschbine planned to organize.
