A San Antonio man is accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend because she didn’t want to have a baby with him, court records show.
Several days later, a witness came forward who said they had dropped off Alvarez on Capitol Avenue to meet with Byrd hours before her body was discovered, an affidavit supporting Byrd’s arrest said.
On April 12, investigators learned that Byrd had been arrested in connection with an aggravated robbery. When he was interviewed by detectives, he admitted to killing Alvarez using the same gun he used in the aggravated robbery.
