Kevin Valverde-Cruz, 21, of Jackson pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and eluding law enforcement. He faces five years in prison, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.Lakewood Township attempted to pull him over for speedingHe refused to stop, leading police on a chase that ended on the Garden State Parkway “due to public safety concerns,” Billhimer said.
The driver “put the vehicle in reverse, and struck the detectives’ vehicle,” before turning back onto the road and nearly running over detectives as he fled, Billhimer said.
