File image.Following the 7.8-magnitude earthquake near the Turkey-Syria border Feb. 6 that killed, multiple North Texas-based organizations, including the Masjid Al-Noor mosque in Flower Mound, collected donations to help victims.

On Feb. 13, someone broke into Masjid Al-Noor, in the 3400 block of Peters Colony Road, and stole donation boxes, police said. Several days after the incident was reported, authorities identified Muhammad Khan, 36, of Virginia as a suspect. Khan was arrested by Richardson police Saturday, according to Flower Mound police. He was driving the vehicle investigators believe was used in the burglary, according to police.

He was being held at the Denton County jail Tuesday on three felony counts of burglary. His bail is set at $10,000, and it is unclear whether he has an attorney. Khan, who was previously accused in a separate mosque burglary in Denton, was arrested in July 2021 on a theft charge, according to court records.
