He is expected to enter a plea
The man accused of murdering a nurse and her two young children in Kettering last December will appear in court today. Saju Chelavalel will appear at Northampton Crown Court where he is expected to enter a plea after being charged with three counts of murder.
A forensic post-mortem examination at Leicester Royal Infirmary concluded that all three died of asphyxiation. Chelavalel was arrested the same day and later charged with the family's murder on December 17.Chelavalel attended Wellingborough Magistrates' Court on December 19, where he was remanded in custody. He appeared at Northampton Crown Court two days later via video link.
Ms Ashok was described as a "committed and compassionate" nurse by her colleagues at Kettering General Hospital. Chief Executive Deborah Needham said she was "loved and respected by her dear friends and colleagues. All our thoughts are with her friends and family as they come to terms with this sudden loss.”
