Bursey Armstrong’s new lawyer entered not guilty pleas to the two murder charges against his client.
Armstrong’s next court date is Sept. 13. He is being held in the Duval County jail without bond, according to jail records.

Young’s two children, ages 1 and 3, were also inside the residence, the warrant shows.The warrant states Young’s mother told police that her daughter and Armstrong, whom the document lists as the father of Young’s children,, with Young telling her mother that Armstrong had held a gun to her head two weeks earlier.
The warrant notes that while researching Armstrong, there was a documented history of domestic violence, saying there was a felony domestic battery report written in May 2021, but the victim did not follow through with an injunction for protection.Investigators said a search of Armstrong’s car and his residence turned up clothes that appeared to be bloody, a gun and ammunition. He was arrested July 24.
