A Somerville man has been arrested in the investigation of an apartment building fire that was determined to be intentionally set, authorities announced Monday.
Police and firefighters responded to a fire alarm activation at an apartment building located on East Main Street in Somerville at approximately 11:57 p.m. on Oct. 25, according to a statement from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office. After putting out the blaze, firefighters located 40-year-old tenant Dashawn Holmes unconscious in the apartment building. Holmes was transported to an area hospital for treatment, police said.Police ultimately arrested Holmes on Oct. 30 and charged him with third degree arson.
