On Oct 16 in Austin, Jader Tinoco-Salgado was allegedly shot dead by his cousin Elvin Tinoco-Orosco after an argument; Orosco faces 1st Degree Murder charges. At 1:26 a.m. on October 16, Austin Police Department officers responded to a report of an unresponsive man at the 2200 block of E Riverside Drive. Upon arrival, they found Jader Francisco Tinoco-Salgado, 28, with gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead.
A preliminary investigation by APD revealed an argument had taken place between Tinoco-Salgado and his cousin, Elvin Salvador Tinoco-Orosco, 35. The altercation escalated, leading to Tinoco-Orosco shooting Tinoco-Salgado. Officers detained Tinoco-Orosco at the scene, and he has since been charged with 1st Degree Felony Murder.
