A man accused of killing a pedestrian and injuring two drivers in a string of crashes through Ogden fled from the hospital earlier that evening after refusing detox treatment.

A man accused of killing a pedestrian and injuring at least two drivers in a string of crashes through Ogden on Friday, Dec. 27, 2024, had reportedly fled from the hospital earlier that evening after refusing detox treatment, police report. Tyson Bryce Treasure, 26, was arrested Friday night on suspicion of 12 felonies and misdemeanors after reportedly crashing into at least six different vehicles, one of which was thrust into an intersection where a pedestrian was crossing.

It all began Friday at around 5:15 p.m., according to a probable cause statement filed Saturday. That's when the arresting officer alleges Treasure got into a Silver Dodge Ram truck at Ogden Regional Hospital. Hospital staff reported to police that 'a male had come to the hospital intoxicated but as since refusing detox treatment and fled,' arrest documents state, noting that's where the first hit-and-run crash happened as Treasure struck another vehicle while driving away. About 10 minutes later, dispatchers received 'numerous' reports of reckless driving, all describing a Silver or Gray pickup truck. A Utah Highway Patrol trooper spotted the vehicle traveling north in Ogden and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The truck did not stop, though, and the pursuit was terminated.'These all happened within a very quick time frame,' said Lt. Shane Keyes with the Ogden Police Department. The report alleges Treasure approached the intersection against a red light, where a Ford and a Kia were stopped. The Dodge did not slow down, ramming the back of the Ford, which in turn slammed into the Kia.UHP identifies man found dead on I-215 in Taylorsville 'Luckily, no injuries were reported,' according to the probable cause statemen
