Williams has been booked into the Davison County jail and his bond is $105,000.
One person died and several were injured after a vehicle ran into a group of people late Thursday night downtown who police say appeared to have been waiting for a rideshare.
Police reviewed safety cameras and located a maroon Mercedes with Tennessee tags that were registered to 25-year-old John Williams. In the arrest affidavit, police say that Williams had red, bloodshot and watery eyes and smelled of alcohol. Police say 66-year-old Leroy Wienke, of Wisconsin, was hit by the vehicle and died.
