A 29-year-old man was arrested on the scene - a 23-year-old man handed himself in to police
The crash happened on Stockport Road in the Ashton-under-Lyne area at around 11.55pm on Wednesday . Officers responded to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and car, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said.
He was also arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Both have since been released on bail as investigations into the incident continue. Debris from the incident could be seen on the road. A Specialist Operations Incident Command van was also pictured on the scene.
