A man who was shot in City Heights Tuesday died of his injuries, police say. The suspect has not been found yet and fled the area by foot.
San Diego Police Department officers arrived within minutes of hearing reports of a shooting in front of a house at 3205 40th Street near the Manzanita Canyon at 11:04 a.m., according to the agency.
When they arrived, officers found a person in front of the house giving first aid to a 35-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. Officers then took over life-saving measures until paramedics from the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department got there and drove him to a local hospital, SDPD said.Get San Diego local news, weather forecasts, sports and lifestyle stories to your inbox.
During the preliminary investigation, officers found out the victim had been confronted by the suspect in front of the house before he was shot.Police only described the suspect as an unknown-aged, youthful-looking man wearing a blue hoodie.
