Man, 27, shot and wounded in Midway District [Breaking]
A 27-year-old man was shot and wounded Thursday afternoon in the Midway District, San Diego police said.
It happened shortly before 5 p.m. on Sports Arena Boulevard near Kemper Street where the victim and shooter were involved in some type of argument, Officer Robert Heims said in a news release. During the argument, the victim ran away and the gunman fired several shots at the fleeing man, striking him once in the chest, Heims said. The victim continued running and crossed a street, where officers made contact with him.
Paramedics later took him to a hospital for treatment of the non-life-threatening gunshot wound, Heims said. The gunman was last seen getting into the passenger side of a silver Nissan Sentra sedan whose driver headed east on Sports Arena Boulevard, Heims said. A description of the shooter was not provided.
