The medical examiner’s office has identified a man police say was shot dead Friday afternoon in Fort Worth.
Fort Worth police were dispatched at 5:45 p.m. for a shooting call in the 1600 block of Glasgow Road, where officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, according to a news release. The man died at the scene despite receiving medical attention, the release said.
The medical examiner’s office identified the man as Jaylon Jeffery, 22, according to online records. His manner of death was listed as a homicide.Detectives determined that, prior to the shooting, there was a verbal and physical altercation involving several people at the location, according to the release. The alleged shooter then fired a single shot, striking Jeffery’s upper torso, before fleeing in a vehicle, the release said.
The release does not state whether police had made an arrest.
