Man, 22, dies after he was found unresponsive in San Diego jail cell [Breaking]
A 22-year old man died in his cell at San Diego Central Jail after he was found unresponsive Wednesday morning, the Sheriff’s Department said.
About 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, deputies performing a safety check found him unresponsive. They started performing life-saving measures until paramedics arrived and took over, but Schuck died at the jail. In February, the California State Auditor released a searing report finding that San Diego County jails are so deficient in providing adequate inmate medical and mental health care that state lawmakers should intervene to force change. The report suggested several changes.
