DAVAO CITY – Around P2 billion will be invested for the expansion of the Abreeza Mall here.
Janice Parreño, general manager of Abreeza Mall, said Ayala Malls is set to begin the construction within the last quarter of this year of a new mixed-use building, consisting of three floors of retail spaces, two floors of business process outsourcing and offices, and basement parking.Parreño said that the new building will have 22,000-square meters of leasable spaces in addition to the existing 58,000-square meters of leasable spaces in the main mall.
Parreño said that a lot of popular brands are interested to open in the new building, which indicates the confidence of the businesses in the Davao market. “In the expansion, we will have those bands who have been interested to come to Davao but unfortunately right now we are 94 percent leased out for the main mall. There is hardly any space. If there is any, it is only the small cuts. There are a lot of concept stores wanting to enter Davao but unfortunately for now we don’t have the space,” she added.
