PETALING JAYA: After two years of celebrating the new year in a modest manner because of the pandemic, Malaysians are looking forward to welcoming 2023 with a bang, with events and concerts lined up during the final week of 2022.

There is a Countdown 2023 event happening at Sunway Lagoon in Subang Jaya on Dec 31, featuring local artistes like Joe Flizzow and SonaOne, as well as international performers like Havana Brown, R3hab and Alan Walker.

And on Dec 29, popular Malaysian band Kugiran Masdo and Indonesian group The Changcuters are set to sizzle at Zepp Kuala Lumpur for an almost three-hour jam session. According to Kugiran Masdo’s manager and event director Zulhaili Abd Rani, the venue can accomodate up to 2,300 people. “We will have 50 people just for this. And that number does not include medical staff and an ambulance standing by in case of any medical emergency,” he added.

“Bags will also be checked by security personnel before fans enter the venue so that everyone in attendance can enjoy the show together without any unwanted incidents,” Zulhaili said.
