Kota Kinabalu: Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu said the export of processed food products with halal status has now successfully penetrated more than 150 countries which includes 1.8 billion Muslims globally.
He said the market is wide open and with redoubled efforts, it is not impossible that one day Malaysia’s local halal products will not only be concentrated in Muslim-majority countries but will also become the product of choice and have a high demand in all corners of the world.“It is the desire of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security to see local products penetrate the international market,” he said.
