PETALING JAYA - Malaysian employers said the spread of the coronavirus among documented foreign workers in the country has been well managed, but the government needed to do more to track cases of infections among illegal workers.
Datuk Shamsuddin said there could be up to 3.3 million illegal workers in the country, against 2.2 million documented ones. "The government needs to put more effort to control the spread of Covid-19 among illegal foreign workers,"he added. Foreigners are said to make up the bulk of those staying in the Selangor Mansion and Malayan Mansion flats in Jalan Masjid India and Menara City One condominium in Jalan Munshi Abdullah.On Saturday, Health director-general Noor Hisham Abdullah said the ministry would embark on a large-scale screening of foreign workers.
