Perdana Menteri Anwar Ibrahim berkata Malaysia dan Turkiye bakal menjalin kerjasama untuk membentuk gerakan bagi menangani isu Islamofobia di peringkat antarabangsa. – Gambar fail The Malaysian Insight, 5 Ogos 2023.

Beliau berkata perkara itu dibincangkan melalui perbualan telefon bersama Presiden Recep Tayyip Erdogan petang semalam. “Saya kata silakan, saya setuju dan saya kata kita akan siapkan kertas dan bincang dan dia kata dia berhajat untuk datang ke Malaysia secepat mungkin,” katanya ketika berucap pada Himpunan Rakyat bersama Perdana Menteri di Dataran Rakyat Guar Perahu di Permatang Pauh malam ini.

Perdana menteri berkata Islamofobia merupakan sikap permusuhan terhadap Islam terutama di negara barat di mana Islam dibenci sehingga menimbulkan perbuatan seperti tindakan membakar al-Quran di Sweden.
