Tragedi pesawat MH17 Malaysia Airlines ditembak jatuh pada 17 Julai 2014 meragut nyawa 298 orang, termasuk 43 penumpang dan kru pesawat MH17 rakyat Malaysia.
Wisma Putra berkata, langkah itu amat penting dalam usaha untuk mengetahui kebenaran dan memberikan keadilan kepada mangsa tragedi pesawat MH17 yang berlaku pada 17 Julai, 2014. Menurut kementerian itu, Malaysia menekankan betapa pentingnya proses yang berwibawa dan telus, berdasarkan kedaulatan undang-undang dalam menegakkan keadilan.
