The Philippines would have a lot of catching up to do if it intends to become an “export powerhouse” by 2028, based on the government’s latest blueprint. Know more:

Under PEDP, the government wants to more than double the country’s earnings from the export of goods and services to more than $240 billion from the nearly $100 billion recorded last year, based on data from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

To significantly increase the country’s earnings from merchandise exports, the government will seek to remove constraints to production, develop a “strong innovative export ecosystem,” and strengthen the brand recognition of the Philippines in the global market.
