The pair also decided that the ceilings of the elegant Buffalo interiors would always be seen. “I think it’s telling you, subtly, that they’re in a box and there will be no escape.
Del Toro says Cooper’s own grasp of the nuance of directing was a major benefit to the production. “As a filmmaker, what is fantastic is you can talk about each scene and you understand that he knows how it affects the whole kaleidoscope,” the director explains. “Bradley knew exactly why each choice was the right choice.”, my father passed away, and the only thing I got from him was a watch,” del Toro says.
