Make it easier for employees to retain 11% EPF contribution, says MTUC

EPF has a moral responsibility to discourage contributors from reducing their contribution merely for some extra pocket money at month end, says the Malaysian Trades Union Congress.

EMPLOYEES should be automatically allowed to retain their 11% Employees Provident Fund contribution, with only those wanting to take up the reduction offer needing to make a request, said Malaysian Trades Union Congress . MTUC secretary-general J. Solomon said this in respect of EPF’s current practice of telling workers who wished to retain their contribution at 11% to complete Borang KWSP 17A and submit it to the EPF via their employers.
