'Make Floyd Shivambu the finance minister': Malema states demand for coalition with ANC

EFF leader Julius Malema said the party is prepared to go into a national coalition with the ANC if Floyd Shivambu is made finance minister.

EFF secretary-general Marshall Dlamini says the party will only agree to a coalition government if possible suitors accept its three cardinal pillars: land expropriation without compensation, free education and the nationalisation of mines. Meanwhile, while speaking to JJ Tabane on Frank Dialogue on Thursday night, EFF president Julius Malema punted his number two, Floyd Shivambu, for finance minister as a condition the EFF would put on the table were it to go into a coalition agreement with the ANC.

This as polls suggest the ANC may lose its majority in the 29 May general election and would need to work with other political parties to form a coalition government.
