North Carolina officials named the mother of a missing child as a suspect in the case of her disappearance.
North Carolina officials are now considering the mother of missing 11-year-old Madalina Cojocari as a suspect in the child's disappearance.'We continue to seek information on the whereabouts of Madalina Cojocari who hasn't been seen since November 21, 2022. Her mother, Diana Cojocari, is considered a suspect in her disappearance,' the Cornelius Police Department said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.Madalina Cojocari was last seen getting off her school bus, police said.
Diana Cojocari admitted her daughter was missing to school officials at a meeting about her daughter's absence. The school then contacted the police.Both the mother and Palmiter were arrested for failing to report a missing child. Diana Cojocari pleaded guilty to the charge and Palmiter was found guilty.Diana Cojocari was sentenced to six to 17 months in prison while Palmiter was sentenced to 30 months of supervised probation.
