A truck driver who collided with a bus has been charged over the crash that injured more than a dozenParamedics were called to the intersection of Exford Rd and Murphys Rd in Eynesbury at 3.45pm on Tuesday when the bus driving 45 children home from Exford Primary School collided with a truck.
Ten children, ranging in ages from five to 11, suffered a range of traumatic injuries including crushed limbs, severe lacerations, glass shards and spinal injuries.One child had their arm amputated, while others underwent partial amputations. The male driver of the truck was assisting police with their inquiries overnight and on Wednesday afternoon, police confirmed a 49-year-old man had been charged with four counts of dangerous driving causing serious injury.7NEWSEarlier on Wednesday, the CEO of the Royal Children’s Hospital Bernadette McDonald gave an update on the conditions of the children and said the families are “traumatised”.
