Police received reports of a diver in difficulty

Police have now named the diver who went missing off the North Welsh coast last week as a 53-year-old man named Imrich, from Warrington .

Police received reports of a diver potentially in difficulty off Porth Ysgaden last Thursday on the Llyn Peninsula, North Wales Live reported. A major land and sea search has since been launched, with no results so far. North Wales Police have not yet released Imrich's surname.In a statement, North Wales Police said: "On Thursday, November 28th, police were informed of a report concerning the safety of a possible diver off Porth Ysgaden on the Llyn Peninsula.

"A silver Ford Mondeo Titanium was located in a car park close to Porth Ysgaden belonging to Imrich, along with personal belongings. Land and sea searches are ongoing to help locate him." Chief Inspector Stephen Pawson said: “We are keeping all lines of enquiry open and are appealing to anyone who might have seen Imrich to get in touch with us at the earliest opportunity. Anyone who was in the area of Porth Ysgaden on Wednesday, November 27th or Thursday, November 28th and hasn’t already been in touch is asked to make contact with us.
