It is busy throughout the day
A major junction has been described as "horrible" for pedestrians to cross and tricky for drivers to turn right, as residents living nearby have given mixed views on what should be done. The junction of the A60 Mansfield Road / A611 Thackeray's Lane / Ribblesdale Road can be busy through the day, and even more so at peak times.
But residents in the area raised a number of different concerns, with some saying they have trouble crossing it at times, and others saying they avoid turning right across the junction completely. One described it as "awful" to cross. Anne Cassidy, 60, said: "It's slow when you're trying to cross the road as you have to wait in the middle. It's awful, it's horrible."
"My biggest worry is trying to cross the road, as it's not always clear which direction the cars are coming from and they can come around quickly. I cross it every Thursday to meet my friend at The Vale pub, have a pint and have a carvery."
