Scot Gemmill danced around the subject of a potential senior Scotland call-up for Ben Doak this month after the Liverpool talent's latest performance
Scotland Under-21s manager Scot Gemmill refused to rule out a senior call-up for Liverpool youngster Ben Doak as early as next week for the friendly against France.
The Liverpool winger won and dispatched a penalty to help his Under-21 national side to a 3-1 victory over their Hungarian counterparts at Motherwell's Fir Park on Friday. "That’s Steve’s decision but we speak about it all the time and he knows he can take a player from me anytime he wants," Gemill said via the Scotsman after the final whistle, "He and his staff will decide when that time is.
"We’ve all got a massive responsibility to help him fulfil that potential. It’s amazing to see such a young player who can excite the fans – but he wasn’t the only one tonight."
