Phoenix Suns All-Star Devin Booker injured his right hamstring Tuesday while playing transition defense on a Jaxson Hayes dunk in Game 2 of a Western Conference first-round series against the New Orleans Pelicans. Booker scored 31 points in the first half of that game, but he could only watch from the sideline as the Pelicans rallied for a stunning 125-114 win to tie the series at one apiece.
The No. 1-seeded Suns were strong favorites among sportsbooks to win the Western Conference playoffs and the NBA Finals. But with the news, first , that Booker was expected to miss Games 3 and 4 — and the Warriors cruising to a 2-0 lead over Denver — the Dubs have pulled ahead of the Suns on some sites.
