Maine's senators in Washington were split over an Iran war resolution rejected by the Senate.

Maine Sens. Susan Collins, a Republican, and Angus King, an independent who caucuses with Democrats, are seen in this April 2018 file photo. The vote was along party lines, with only two senators breaking rank on the measure, which would have blocked Trump from ordering further military strikes on Iran.

Republican Senator Susan Collins voted against the measure, while Independent Angus King voted for the restrictions.“It's the obligation of the President and the administration to tell us number one, why was this done, and number two, why now, and number three, what are the next steps,” King said. “The people of America deserve to have an answer to those questions.”“Passing this resolution now would send the wrong message to Iran and to our troops. At this juncture, providing unequivocal support to our service members is critically important, as is ongoing consultation by the administration with Congress.”A London man has been arrested and charged with murder in the suspicious death of his wife.A man accused of stabbing his wife to death is now in custody following an altercation Feb. 23.Porfirio Sanchez-Eufracio is charged with murder in the stabbingA former property manager accused of exploiting Haitian immigrants by renting out apartments listed as vacant is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.Ohio to stop allowing SNAP benefits to buy soda, sugary drinks
