A Maine beach reopened after closing earlier this week following a white shark sighting. Beaches have closed for similar reasons up and down the East Coast.

The Florida of Natural History and the University of Florida's International Shark Attack File reported that there have been six possible bites there from June 30 to July 20, 2022. "ISAF has not yet confirmed shark involvement in all cases. All victims survived with relatively minor injuries," it said.
