Mahsa Amini’s father detained on anniversary of her death

Activists say Amjad Amini was warned not to mark his daughter’s death anniversary.

The name of Mahsa Amini, who died on Sept 16, 2022 while in police custody, is written in red on a wall in Tehran, Iran.

TEHRAN: Iranian security forces released Mahsa Amini’s father today after briefly detaining and warning him against marking the anniversary of her death, a human rights group said. “Security forces detained Amjad Amini today and returned him to his house after threatening him against marking his daughter’s death anniversary,” the Kurdistan Human Rights network said.
