Magnolia West, which moves into the eight-team District 21-5A this season, have some cornerstones to lay the foundation of this collective mentality. Junior setter Bethany May was a first team all-district as she totaled 689 assists in 100 sets, 267 digs, 123 kills, 39 aces and 17 blocks. May was the county’s Newcomer of the Year in 2020.
Magnolia West will open the season at the John Turner Volleyball Classic hosted by Pearland Aug. 11-13. The Mustangs will play at Kingwood Park Aug. 16. They compete in the Pflugerville Tournament Aug. 18-20. The home opener is Aug. 23 versus Klein Oak. They open District 21-5A play Sept. 9 at home against A&M Consolidated.
