A magnitude 5.7 earthquake occurred late Wednesday morning in Cagayan, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The tremor took place around 11:35 a.m. some 17 kilometers northeast of Dalupiri Island , also in the same province.Tectonic in origin, the quake's depth of focus was 17kms, Phivolcs chief Teresito 'Toto' Bacolcol told The Manila Times.
Meanwhile, Intensity 3 was felt in Licuan-Baay, Abra; Balbalan, Lubuagan, and Pasil, Kalinga; City of Batac, Currimao, Marcos, Paoay, and Pinili, Ilocos Norte while Intensity 2 in Nueva Era, Ilocos Norte; Basco, Batanes; Angadanan, Cabagan, Maconacon, San Mariano, and San Pablo, Isabela and Intensity 1 in Delfin Albano, Isabela.
