The United States Geological Survey reports a preliminary magnitude 3.8 earthquake struck near The Geysers in Sonoma County on Sunday. The quake hit at 2:30 p.m. Pacific Time at a depth of 1 kilometers.Earlier in the day at 8:39 p.m. a 3.0 magnitude earthquake struck the same area.
