Magashule claims more ANC members will be arrested as party heads to elective conference
Magistrates’ Court. This was after magistrate Betty Khumalo sentenced Dlamini to four years in jail or a R200 000 fine for perjury, with half of the sentence suspended for five years. This means Dlamini will pay a fine of R100 000, R20 000 of which she paid on Friday, so that she is not locked up for two years.
Magashule also claimed that other members of the ANC would be arrested ahead of the party’s elective conference in December. This week ANC treasurer-general Paul Mashatile said on Radio 702 that said as per the policies of the ANC, Dlamini was supposed to resign because she had been convicted.I respect comrade Paul Mashatile, he is my treasurer-general. I respect elected leadership but don’t try something you can never, ever stand against the people of South Africa. The ANC is not an organisation of leaders.
“I do not know the magistrate but she made me believe in women ... She made me make a decision that when I leave here I am going to work hard to make sure that we have decisive women who are not told on the side what they must do.
