A 2020 Danish Oscar-winning film starring Mads Mikkelsen is set to arrive on Netflix very soon. Here are all the details.

Thomas Vinterberg wrote and directed the film, while co-writing the screenplay with Tobias Lindholm. It stars Mads Mikkelsen as Martin, Thomas Bo Larsen as Tommy, Magnus Millang as Nikolaj, Lars Ranthe as Peter, and Maria Bonnevie as Anika, among others. , which he had written a long time ago. Following his daughter Ida’s suggestions, he incorporated elements of Danish drinking culture into the story and adapted it into a feature, with Ida having a small part in the film.
Sadly, four days into filming, Ida passed away in a car accident. The director then reworked the script to make it more “life-affirming” of 0.05%. To put that to the test, the four friends begin drinking small amounts of alcohol during their work hours. When the experiment actually improves their lifestyle, they decide to increase their intake, hoping for even greater results.
However, things don’t work out as they imagined. Another Round premiered at the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival and was released in Denmark on September 24, 2020. Later, the independent studio Samuel Goldwyn Films bought the rights to distribute it in the United States. The film finally debuted in the US theaters on December 4, 2020, though it was a limited release.
It became available on PVOD platforms two weeks later. At the 2021 Oscars, it won the Best International Feature Film award. While Vinterberg also received a nomination for Best Director, he lost it to Chloé Zhao, who directed Nomadland.
