KOTA KINABALU: Businesses that were given permission to operate can continue to operate even though Sabah is not adopting the conditional movement control order (MCO), says Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau.
He said all companies and industries that have been given permission to operate in the earlier phases of the MCO can continue their businesses using the standard operating procedure outlined by the Health Department.
He said this on Sunday when commenting on Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal's decision not to adopt the federal decision on the conditional MCO on Monday .has allowed the inter-district movement of farms produces and fishery products among other food related matters and oil and gas, oil palm plantation and mills have been allowed to operate.
He said that Japan's Hokkaido had to reinstate a movement control order after it was hit by a second wave of Covid-19 infection when the island lifted the controls early.Describing it as a right move by Shafie not to adopt the conditional MCO, state Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Phoong Jiun Tze reminded Sabahans that indoor and outdoor activities were not allowed until May 12.
