Christian Brueckner, 43, is being investigated over the 2015 disappearance of Inga Gehricke, while officers are also said to have contacted the family of René Hasee, 6, who vanished in 1996 case has reportedly been linked to the disappearances of two other children.
Police allegedly looked for the little girl in the factory in 2016. They did not find her and the investigation was dropped, but the German national was prosecuted after officers found child sex abuse images on a USB stick in the same search. The little boy from Elsdorf, Germany, was last seen running ahead of his mother and step-father while on holiday with them in Aljezur on June 21, 1996.
The couple lost sight of him, only finding his clothes lying on the beach, and he was never seen again, according to MailOnline. The father reportedly told German newspaper Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger the phone call from police was the first time he had been contacted by officers in 20 years and ‘there could be a connection.’
He then showed a witness a video of himself raping a woman, which later led to him being jailed, The Sun reports.
