The Shamrocks' Mason Boyer and Jarzynski connected for three first-half TDs and Trinity rolled into the District 3-3A championship game
Trinity punched its ticket to the District 3 Class 3A championship with a dominant 42-21 road win over No. 2 Annville-Cleona Friday night. The Shamrocks leaned on the QB-WR connection of Mason Boyer and Maddox Jarzynski and a swarming defense to pull away in the second half, ending the Dutchmen’s season at 8-3.
Trinity advanced to face Berks Catholic – a 38-6 winner over Bermudian Springs – in the 3A final next Friday at a site to be determined. Jaryznski was a revelation in the first half with four touchdowns – three receiving and a 69-yard interception returned for a TD. The game opened with fireworks, as A-C senior Jon Moran returned the opening kickoff 86 yards for a touchdown just 12 seconds in. Trinity responded quickly, with senior QB Mason Boyer connecting on a fourth-and-14 touchdown pass to top target Jarzynski from 32 yards to tie it 7-7. Momentum shifted late in the first quarter when Trinity’s Jarzynski intercepted a screen pass and returned it for a score, giving the Shamrocks a 14-7 lead. Boyer and Jarzynski hooked up again for a 21-7 lead by Annville answered on a toss to Moran with 3:48 left to halftime. Boyer and Jarzynski were at it again just before halftime with a 25-yard toss into traffic that Jarzynski hauled in for their third TD hookup of the first half.Sophomore Brandon Harris ran for a 17-yard TD for the Shamrocks after the break.
