Macy Gray Storms Off Stage After Masked Singer Elimination

Singer Macy Gray exited the stage in a dramatic fashion after failing to be saved by the judges on the U.K. version of The Masked Singer.

Macy Gray stormed off the stage after failing to be saved by the judges on the U.K. version of The Masked Singer. Despite the majority of the judging panel correctly guessing her identity after three episodes in the Toad in the Hole mask, her competitor in the Bear mask was favored. Gray eventually rejoined host Joel Dommett for the customary post-reveal Q&A but only offered monosyllabic answers while visibly frustrated.

Gray previously appeared on the Australian and American versions of the show. She reached episode six in the Atlantis costume for the Australian version and made it to the finals of the American version. In a recent interview on BBC Radio 2, panelist Jonathan Ross commented on Gray's exit, stating, 'The case with Macy is she is a legend, she has a recognizable voice, and she might as well go because we all know it is her, and they put the other person through because we still don't know who they are.' He also voiced understanding for Gray's feelings but found the optics of her impulsive decision humorous, saying, 'You can't be vexed when you’re dressed as a toad. In my professional career – I love Macy, she is incredible, great voice – but I have never witnessed anything more funny than a six-foot toad storming off. It's the funniest thing I've ever seen in my life.
