After the Padres scored four runs to get to 6-4 in the top of the fifth, Gore didn’t get an out in the bottom of the inning. “We have done a pretty good job of keeping the ball in the ballpark,” said Gore, who had allowed one homer before Friday. “We didn’t do that tonight. It’s tough to win a game when I’m running out there and giving up eight.”
“I was just bad,” he said. “It would sound like an excuse. Just left some balls up. ... You know going in you have to finish pitches here.
