JOHOR BARU: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has detained an unemployed man for allegedly asking and receiving money on behalf of a Covid-19 disaster fund.
Investigations so far revealed that the 57-year-old suspect was found to have allegedly asked and received RM350 for the fund.
It is also learnt that if the"donation" was not given, the suspect would bring enforcement officers from the Customs Department and Immigration Department to conduct operations on business premises which hired foreign workers. The suspect was detained at Bukit Kempas on Thursday evening at around 5pm to help with ongoing investigations, which is under Section 16 of the MACC Act 2009.
