KUALA LUMPUR: Former education minister Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Jidin will likely be called in by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for its investigation on a multi-million ringgit book-printing project.
"There is a high probability but not now.It was previously reported that the MACC arrested a former political secretary to a minister and another person in their probe.
Sources said the duo were arrested after having their statements taken on Friday night at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya. The source said that the first suspect, in his 20s, was a political secretary to a former senior minister. The other is an owner of a company in his 50s, who is believed to have collaborated with the minister in question to award the project via direct negotiation.
When contacted, MACC deputy chief commissioner Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya confirmed the arrest.Radzi has since denied any involvement in the project. "The allegations linking me and my wife to the printing of the J-Qaf preschool books are absolutely false," he said in a Facebook video posted on Saturday .
