The game, titled Lili, is a 'screen life thriller video game ' where players will gain access to a modern-day Lady Macbeth 's personal devices, according to a press release.
Players will be immersed in a stylized, neo-noir vision of modern Iran, where surveillance and authoritarianism are deeply ingrained in daily life. The gameplay will involve a fusion of live-action cinema within an interactive game format, allowing players to fully immerse themselves in Lady Macbeth's world and make choices that shape her fate.It bears a striking resemblance to interactive thrillers inspired by Sam Barlow's work. The Royal Shakespeare Company is collaborating with iNK Stories, a New York-based indie studio and publisher known for their work on 1979 Revolution: Black Friday, to bring this unique vision to life. Lili will feature Zar Amir as 'Lady Macbeth (Lili),' according to the press release. Lili is scheduled for release in late 2025.
