All emergency services including air ambulance are at the scene
A coach, believed to be carrying school children, has overturned on the M53 northbound between J5 A41 New Chester Road to J4 A5137 Brimstage Road . Merseyside police have not yet confirmed if the coach involved is a school coach.
The crash happened shortly after 8am this morning, on Friday, September 29. All emergency services are on scene along with North West Air Ambulance Services.National Highways Traffic Officers are also at the scene providing assistance with traffic management. Police are advising people to avoid the area as all traffic has been stopped and the road is likely to remain closed for "some time.
A spokesperson for Cheshire police said: "The M53 is closed northbound between J5 Hooton and J4 Clatterbridge and is likely to remain closed for some time. Please avoid the area and follow any diversions signposted."Follow the latest updates on this incident here.
