Living with a housemate has its challenges, especially if you don’t see eye-to-eye on certain matters like hygiene.
However, this particular Malaysian took it a bit too far with his housemate when the latter didn’t clean his room.Too far, in fact, he was recently fined by the Shah Alam Magistrate Court a sum of RM4,000 for threatening his housemate with a knife over the matter., the accused, 35-year-old Mohd Khairul Izuwan Che Rahim threatened to kill his 23-year-old housemate Khairul Ailmie Md Rosalin with the knife.
The accused performed the criminal act at their rented house in Kampung Sri Aman, Puchong on 1 April 2023 at 6pm. Not only that, but Khairul Izuwan also burned Khairul Alimie’s shoes, shirt and pants, as well as chased him with the knife.The accused was slapped with a charge under Section 506 of the Penal Code which could’ve landed him in jail for up to 7 years, a fine or both. Accordingly, should he fail to pay the fine, the accused will be imprisoned for 7 months.
