The pair will co-create a story that will then be independently adapted into both a film by Shyamalan and a novel by Sparks. While Shyamalan signed a first-look deal with Warner Bros. in 2023, it's currently unclear if the film project will land with the studio for distribution. Shyamalan's production company, Blinding Edge, will oversee the film's production.
Sparks, known for his numerous novels adapted into successful films, has seen 11 of his books translated to the big screen, collectively grossing nearly $900 million worldwide.
